Mind Shifting

When symptoms and patterns keep returning, it is rarely because you lack information. It is because your system is still running on an old emotional rule set.

Mind Shifting is a guided process that finds those rules and lets your nervous system update them. We start with a specific problem that keeps looping in your life. Through a short, structured sequence of questions and prompts, your system is invited to reorganize its response.

There is nothing mystical about it. You notice the shift in real time. Most people report that the same issue feels strangely neutral or workable by the end of a session, and that their behavior changes without pushing or white-knuckling.

The goal is not to manage your mindset; it is to remove the emotional blocks that keep your physiology and decisions stuck in the same groove.

Functional Lab Testing

When things feel “off” long term, symptoms are usually telling the truth about an unseen constraint.

Functional lab testing looks underneath those signals. Depending on your case, that can include gut microbiome and digestion, food immune reactions, hormone, and a small number of targeted markers. The point is not to run every test. It is to find the few pieces of data that actually change what we do.

We use labs to ask better questions. Why is your system inflamed. Where is energy being wasted. What is blocking recovery even though you are “doing everything right.”

From there we build a plan that removes specific stressors rather than guessing. Over time, we track both the numbers and how your day actually feels, then adjust. Labs are a temporary tool that help you stop flying blind.

HRV and Breath Training

Your nervous system sets the ceiling for everything else you want from your body.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and CO₂-aware breath training give us a direct handle on that system. Using clinical sensors and structured breathing sessions, we train your physiology to spend less time in chronic fight-or-flight and more time in a stable, responsive state.

You learn how your breathing pattern affects heart rhythm, focus, and energy. You practice specific cadences that improve recovery, sleep, and stress tolerance. We keep an eye on the data, but the real proof is how quickly your body now settles after a stressor and how you feel in daily life.

The long-term goal is not device dependence; it is a reliable internal sense of what “calm and ready” feels like, so you can return there on your own.

Why This Practice Exists

How one sentence in a doctor’s office forced me to stop outsourcing my health.

“Food has nothing to do with it.”

Those were the words my gastroenterologist used after I cautiously explained my latest dietary experiment. She looked at me kindly and said it again, as if rehearsed. Food had nothing to do with my Crohn’s disease.

By then I had already spent years rotating medications, watching my world shrink around bathroom access and flare forecasts. Surgery was on the table. Cancer risk was part of the script. I was in my thirties and being told that the best realistic outcome was management.

Standing in my kitchen one night, I opened the refrigerator and saw my door panel packed with boxes of pre-loaded syringes. A new“promising” drug, yet eerily reminiscent of the past three pharmaceutical regimens. For a moment I saw the rest of my life as a series of these trials.

Something in me refused.

It was not a dramatic moment. It was a quiet calculation. If I stayed on the same track, I knew roughly where I would end up. If I stepped off and treated my body as the main reference point, at least I would be accountable to reality instead of to protocol.

So I chose the other path.

I went all in on understanding what could actually change the disease process. I studied how the immune system behaves when the gut barrier is compromised. I learned how certain foods drive that process and how others calm it. I experimented carefully, tracked symptoms, and refused to accept explanations that could not be tested in my own body.

Within months I was off the surgery schedule. Within a few years I was off medication and clinically in remission. I am now in my fifties, still Crohn’s-free, with more energy and stability than I had in my twenties.

My former gastroenterologist is, to her credit, surprised that all my biopsies have remained clear.

That history is not a promise that your case will match mine. It is the reason this practice exists. I learned the hard way that neither conventional medicine nor alternative hype had a monopoly on truth. What I needed was a way to think about health that respected physiology, used data well, and let me verify change for myself.

I built this practice because I lived the confusion it is designed to solve.

I burned out in mental health work, spent decades in a high-pressure tech career, and navigated a Crohn’s diagnosis that neither standard care nor alternative promises could resolve in a satisfying way. Both systems wanted me to trust them. Neither could explain clearly why I should, in terms that matched the results in my own body.

Unblocked Health exists for people who want something different.

The motivation is straightforward. Help you understand what is actually happening in your system, select methods that can change it in a measurable way, and restore your confidence that your own perception matters more than any marketing claim or device graph.

What Kind of Practice is Unblocked Health?

This is a one-to-one, collaborative practice that combines a small number of validated methods:

We do not chase every possible lab, gadget or mindfulness technique, but we have experience in many. We use tools temporarily to reveal constraints, remove them, and then hand as much control back to you as possible.

Many clients are already well-read, some are practitioners themselves. The process is built to respect that level of understanding and to give you reasoning you can interrogate.

Why Should I Choose Unblocked Health Over Another Practitioner?

You should not choose this practice because it sounds impressive. You should choose it if the way it thinks lines up with how you want to live.

Clear criteria for methods. We are open to any approach, as long as it has a knowable mechanism, can be tested in your lived experience, and does not depend on belief or charisma.

Self-verification built in. You are not asked to take my word for it. Together we define what improvement would look like in your daily life, then use both subjective and objective markers to track it.
